Tom Lea of El Paso created the murals of this room. Appropriately, a cowboy with rope in hand holds the central position in the stark and rugged Cowboy mural. He is shown at work on his ranch, surrounded by the familiar objects of the range — horseman, cattle, windmill, galvanized storage tank, corral, and the sharp silhouette of the Texas hills.
